Lake Okeechobee Fishing Reports 3/11-3/17-2019

The Fishing Report For This Week Is Very Similar To Last Week’s. They Will Be Replacing Alot Of The Channel Markers So Please Be On The Look Out For Divers And Work Boats.

On The North Side, The Fish Can Continue To Be Found In The Pencil Weeds And The Bulrush Along The West (No Secret At This Point), Single Pole Jigging Continues To Be Best For These Areas. If You Want To Keep Your Jig In The Strike Zone For Longer, Snap A Bobber Above Your Jig. You Will Be Able To Trigger More Strikes This Way.

The River Continues To Produce Fish That Are Suspended With Minnows, Try Between 6-13ft And Don’t Forget About The Drop offs. Central Florida Have Been Getting A Good Amount Of Rain So, The Lock Will Be Open And The Water Will Be Moving Pretty Quick Look To Also Try Along The Mouth Of The River Channel And The Places Where The River Branches Off (Hint Hint)

On The South Side, The Fishing Has Picked Up Around Tree Island And The Openings To The Dynamite Holes. The Fish Are Still There, You Just Have To Put In The Time To Find Them. Also, Fishing From The Boat Around Pahokee Pier Has Been Good For The Past Week In The Grass To The South Side, However Watch Out For The Rocks And Shallow Waters.

Fishing From The Bank Has Still Been The Most Consistent At Canal Point With Jig While The Water Is Being Released About 400 cfs And Minnows When The Water Flow Is Below That And Off.

Florida Crappie Club Will Be Hosting A Crappie Tournament This Saturday 3/23 At Okeetanie. Fishing starts at 7:00 and ends at 2:30.
